HEAD OF DESIGN – COLLEGE BOARD
New York, NY

I’m a dynamic, poly-skilled Design leader who is passionate about driving cultural transformation towards a Design-integrated organization. Currently serving as the Head of Design at College Board, I oversee the disciplines of DesignOps, Creative Strategy, UX, UI/Visual Design and Research—a community of 40 (and growing!) multi-level rockstar designers. All united in one mission: to provide product teams across eight portfolios with unparalleled support when it comes to embedding lean/agile approaches, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and making user centricity a first priority.

My extensive and diverse background spans numerous industries and started almost 30 years ago with pivotal contributions to the evolution of the commercial internet in Brazil. Throughout my career, I have worked for prestigious ad agencies, consulting firms, corporations, and have established my own design studio on a couple of occasions; the exposure to a diversity of roles enables me to seamlessly switch context/adapt. Prudential Financial, EY, NBA, Shutterstock, Citibank, Avon, Motorola, Unilever, Ford Motors, AstraZeneca, Whirlpool, Diageo, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, Santander and Telefónica are just a few examples of brands I had the pleasure to partner with for a wide range of initiatives, such as new product/start-up launches, mobile apps, corporate websites, microsites, online stores, portals, intranets and CRM/Marketing efforts.

I’m at my best when I’m 1) partnering with stakeholders to discuss strategy/roadmap and shape Design support; 2) nurturing internal culture/growth (making sure my designers feel cared for is something I take very seriously); 3) amplifying the Design voice across the org; 4) coaching/collaborating with my leads to keep improving our Design practice; and 5) designing the processes that will make us work faster, better, more integrated and with more transparency.

Outside of the 9-5 workweek, you’ll find me either enjoying quality time with my family and friends, making art, testing new vegan recipes, binge-watching good shows, getting lost in NYC or planning a trip to somewhere new and far away that I've never been before.
